You buy whatever takes your fancy, Swampdonkey. That is the entire point about retail therapy. Anyway, what's so wrong about a dog collar? The walking shoes will do for next time.... or the one after.
@Lara you were so right! I am working from home today so went on the big morning walk and there is OH saying 'With me, With me' with Maxx completely ignoring him! I had to bite my tongue so hard I nearly drew blood
bogan [ˈbəʊɡ(ə)n] NOUN AUSTRALIAN / NEW ZEALAND informal derogatory an uncouth or unsophisticated person regarded as being of low social status. This happened a few days ago now, but I keep forgetting to tell you guys. We lost Chi! (Now officially Juniper/Ginny, by the way) We were out with all the dogs having a little mooch around and I was doing some fun games with the Labs when, "Where's the orange thing gone?!". Turns out she had found an abandoned fox hole at the edge of the woods. And gone down it. There is now a grating over the top of it so she can't go getting herself into any more mischief. Being a tripawd doesn't stop her, that's for sure!
Eeek! We have a couple of terriers that live down our road that got trapped down a rabbit/fox/badger hole in our local woods. Took a firecrew (who were clearly quiet and dog friendly) around 2.5 hours to find them and dig them out Glad she managed out - phew!
Nooo! They just can’t help themselves! Either unleash your tongue on him pronto or get yourself a new cue and guard it with your life...
Tonight on my way home from work I saw a lurcher running free on the road. I stopped traffic and tried to catch it but it wouldn’t come to me I hope it’s ok, it was running towards the dual carriageway. It always shocks me when dogs don’t come to you. For all Stanley is a ridiculous oaf I am pleased that if someone was acting interested in him he would be over like a shot thinking “NEW FRIEND NEW FRIEND” and could hopefully be caught quite quickly.
When dogs get really scared they run wild and sometimes don't even recognise their owners. The panic shuts down ration thought
Pinch me! Somebody pinch me! At training tonight, a few people were getting frustrated when their dogs wouldn't do as asked. The trainer stopped and explained about dogs not just knowing say, "down" without any training. Dogs who know it in one context and are not understanding it at the present. Distractions. Puppies who know nothing yet. Then he said "everyone here, except Coco who is quite well trained, is still learning...." Coco was lying at OH's feet, staring up at him, wagging his tail. My head was so big I had to throw the double doors open wide to get out at the end. We work hard outside of class. You can see those who do and those who don't. I try and stay one or two steps ahead with Coco's training. Dog school is our opportunity to work with distractions.
This is the next thing I want to teach Stanley (just the walker under my leg part and following my direction). I was trying to do it in the garden last night and it wasn’t going very well, Stanley just kept doing middle we’ll keep working on it
