When Maxx was 10 weeks we had inconsiderate overseas visitors staying (hubby's best friend who he hardly ever gets to see so I couldn't say no) so I had manic, croco-pup plus being a cleaner, cook and taxi driver to visitors. I didn't shower, let alone brush my hair for my entire Christmas holiday break! I'm so glad that you are keeping your sense of humour and you know it will be SOOOO worth it soon . Maxx now is 7 months and whist still sometimes naughty, he is so loving and calm and we just adore him - and he us
I need to remember that I haven’t even had him a week yet! I was just eating some chips and he jumped up on the table and split coffee everywhere... obviously the ‘Maslow leave it’ came out.. cue him looking at me as if to say what’s that then? Oh yeah.. I haven’t taught him that yet lol
Whispers: due to a complete inability to do anything today as puppy is borderline manic (very busy day and totally strung out) I put him in his crate instead of getting one of the kids to watch him whilst I made tea. Usually when he goes in the crate I have to sit next to him for a few minutes and stroke his face (ok, reading that back makes me sound like I’m a tad overattached ) anyway in he went with a chew but with no fuss. He started whining (not barking etc) and I was literally in the middle of serving the kids tea so totally ignored him.. 10 minutes later and he’s flat out and snoring! Whoop the puppy can self sooth
Zoomies in motion! After 3 days of totally ignoring him and then 1 day of snapping at him every time he went anywhere near him (mainly because Leo objected, understandably , to having his face and feet bitten at every opportunity) Leo, my 12yo GSD/Collie granted Maslow some play time today! He was chased round the garden and his tail was waving so fast I genuinely thought he might take off
Maybe Maslow will sleep well tonight! Perhaps you could now giving Leo a tug toy to see if he will play tuggy games with Maslow too.
Leo won’t play tug! He was trained as a therapy dog and as soon as you tug it he drops it lol. We have tried clicker training it but his mentality has always been the same that as soon as you go to take something he drops it immediately lol
The OH does this all the time! "Ella give it back" "ugh, she won't give it back" "um, well have you taught her what that means?" "no, but surely she should know by now"
Did we marry the same man? Last night OH: "Maxx sit on your mat" OH (louder) "MAXX SIT ON YOUR MAT!" OH (louder still) "MAXX SIT ON YOUR MAT NOW" Me: "he doesn't know what that means" OH: "yes he does" Me: "How?" OH: "I've said it three times
Oh he looks like such a good boy! Please give him a biiiig chin scratch (or other favourite scratching place) from me
9 weeks old today and for the last 2 nights he has gone to bed at 9 in his crate with not even the smallest whine, slept through till 4... had a wee and then slept till 6.30! As an adult you sooooo underestimate sleep! I feel so much better today lol
