I tripped & banged my knee once. It was so painful I couldn't stand and had to crawl very, very slowly back to the car. Coco didn't really help as such, but he stuck by me and didn't run off. I count this as fairly heroic.

I have had one really odd experience, and that was with my old black lab, Bones, who was normally a very friendly dog. My sister lived in rural France, and we spent most of our summers there with the children. In fact, Bones and Billy both came from here. My sister had a neighbour, a farmer, who was a family friend - an older chap who lived alone. Bones did not like him. AT ALL. In fact, he would always growl at him and put his hackles up whenever he came close, and actually bark and bay at him to keep away, which was embarrassing, because as I say he was a family friend... UNTIL it transpired that really he wanted to get into my sister's knickers and when she wasn't having any of it he became very, very nasty and did all sorts of bad stuff including letting her horse out of its field into the road, destroying fences, defaming her character locally, and worst of all pouring battery acid all over the seat of her car, which ended in a stay in a police cell for him. o_O

GOOD BOY BONES. Never underestimate your dog and his instincts!!!

I'd say that is heroic. I guess there wasn't much more he could do -- other than run off and find you some crutches :)

It's hard to say...we've tried fake drowning, she does come rushing out and swims around us circles...I like to think she would try and save someone from drowning! I love the stories of dogs who rescue...dogs are amazing!

They always know...! Quinn goes loopy/crazy excited for 2 different elderly men in our neighbourhood, so I always think that she must know something I don't about their character (in a good way).

When I fainted in the kitchen and hit my head Stanley sat looking at me from his bed like “Mam.. it’s 3am and if I was making this racket you’d tell me off..”.

Didn’t even get out to see if I was ok

If I sneeze little Joy wraps her front paws around the top of my thighs (which is as far as she can reach) in a full body hug. If anyone other than husband or myself comes through the gates she gives the biggest WOOF in the world even though she's so gentle and tiny. She's our sweet, brave, funny, lovely little dog.
