Does anyone else’s dog nudge your hand when you’re walking them?

The little tinker is like *nudge* look how nice I’m walking on my lead - I definitely deserve a treat *nudge*

It must actually be the most frustrating thing, a kong with some last bits of food at the end that you just can’t get cos your snout is too wide and you don’t have opposable thumbs! I bet Ginny is smug with her narrow kong-adapted features :)

But don’t you have Stanley-cam or did OH veto that in the end :cwl:

Ah clever vanilla, the Pig hasn’t worked out to get herself high up to maximise dropping effectiveness yet, thankfully! Ok so seems that dropping and flinging aren’t that unusual. What I had read before about kongs made them sound like this magic calming device for hours of peaceful slurping so I thought something had gone wrong when it turned my living room into some sort of war zone with flying missiles!

Nope, I have a Stanley cam

He’s always asleep or up to mischief when I watch that though. Not looking at me like :( behind a baby gate as I leave him

And that's why we start easy and make them harder - and why kongs are brilliant for helping dogs learn about tenacity, perseverance and delayed gratification :)

The Pig puts herself straight to bed when she thinks I am leaving, and then looks at me with one eye open like ‘hurry up and go, I need my morning nap’ way to make me feel loved, Piggy!

I'm a bit late on this one but thanks for raising it SwampDonkey; Kipper was flatter than usual in the heat (cooler this week thank goodness). I was worrying he was ailing, but I'm pretty sure it's a heat thing; he was sluggish and panting more than normal, so we walked in the evenings instead. I tried a cool mat but his not-over-long claws ripped it after 2 mins out of the box, so it was returned for a refund. Icecubes in his water and staying indoors on cold floors seemed to work best for him, but I think we might get a paddling pool when it gets hot again...

I had the puppy rushes today. Kept imaging a little waggy tailed black pup following me around. It was nice, it made me smile and feel happy:)

It's Friday, I am hot and bored and found myself creating a little song about Merlin, to the tune of 'Where do you go to my lovely':

You act like a maelstrom and you run
And you play without a care,
Your gear is all made by PetSmart,
And there’s mud and burrs in your hair

    Yes there are…

    I love you without reservation
Though a pain in the butt you can be
All the toys that you steal from poor Poppy…
You are just my giant baby

    Yes you are…

But where do you go to my Merly
When you’re alone in your bed
You’re lovely but not very clever -
No one knows what goes on in your head

    No they don’t…

    ETC...

I am sitting at the Radison at Manchester airport after a long flight ready for my next one this evening. Spoke to OH and she said Vanilla is just lost at moment and keeps on looking if she hears a noise near front door, or lies on the rug by front door, and now on my pillow at night...sucks being away. At least plenty of presents can be bought...:)

I know. You still end up missing them, and there is just something about missing a dog. Just different....

    Thanks @JenBainbridge

Yes well going crisscrossing europe and seeing family, UK, Norway and Germany. All because I have to finalise an estate (sounds bad I know), so see some family at same time.
