I think Monty did incredibly well to be able to be taken into a church. I wouldn’t dare risk it with Molly - if she is startled she gives a very loud bark. Daymer Bay beach is the one for space. The tide was out when we arrived this morning and there was acres of sand. The only thing was I couldn’t swim as it didn’t get deep enough where it was safe.
Yes, that 20 minutes was very much like that.... in his defence, he is mostly only interested now in: -another dogs/child's ball. Preferably a football that can be instantly deflated at cost and extreme embrassment to us. Absolutely no point in us taking one of his balls to the beach, that is boring. -another dog running must be chased, even if for 5 seconds only. Fortunately he tends to ignore surfers, walkers, etc, so some improvement on other beach visits. And I think he is mostly too excited with everything else to smell out picnics. Though he did nearly nick an apple pie on Sunday . Fortunately the lady in question expected it ('being a lab') and put the lid on her Tupperware!)
Well I forgot to say that although Monty was completely quiet in church, he very nearly got a bite of the food bank donations you can see in the photo.... so not that innocent! We fortunately got a lovely quiet day at Crantock beach today , I'll post photos in a bit.... again, tide out here, of course, so the beach was huge and mostly doggy people so far more relaxed us all. But again,, so warm! OH is looking like a lobster as insisted he didn't need sunscreen as 'wasn't that warm' ... how deceptive!
Gosh, we may have seen you today! We were at the far end of the beach close to the cliffs, in the corner, with a big stripey windbreak! Are you here all week ?
Day 4. I got to spend a hole day at the beeeeech! I was super good and went in and out of the sea and kept finding my new friend, a Doberman and a pointer, and the pointer kept walking with mum and she said 'I'd keep you if I didn't know better about your pointer pants !' And best of all I went on my first Peeek neeek where food kept appearing out of little boxes. Mmmmm I had sausage rolls and quiche and cheeeeeze and biscuits. All with sand, if course, but I'm used to the sand being everywhere now. Me showing dad the sea. Mom has learned I should only ha ve peeek neeek food at the beach now, not kongs. The beeech and picnics are very tiring for doggos I have exciting news about developments on day 5..... you'll never guess who appeared in my house yesterday morning!
Day 5 So I'm minding my own business having a snooze after all the beaches and pubs and kongs and other doggie and stuff. And the door opens and who should walk in but ....... Carbón!!!!!! (See mum, I can find the accent button in the keyboard ) We went to the beeech together and played and ran and nearly both swam but not quite, and he's so FAST! And we really like each other lots and lots. We had to walk back slowly as I over did it (?) And we went for lunch and we were chilled, well, he was more chilled than me but we were good doggies. We walked back to the house and we both insisted on carrying the same toy in our mouths at the same time so sometimes I had to walk backwards but Emileeee said I was good at it. Then we played tuggie in the house for a bit. Emileee has all the beeech photos but here's the ones mum took in the house, her tablet is overheating in the hot so she's getting grumpy with it. PS if you think we are both lying on the sofa, it's actually an optical illusion as there are no dogs on beds or furniture on holiday, obvs.
Plotting how to get his holiday sofa back! I think I'd Emily hadn't been about to leave, they may have curled up together quite happily. They were certainly a good match, though Carbon has the edge on Monty for sheer speed and lightness of foot. He has a fantastic leaping run, makes him look like a puppy crossed with a frolicking lamb.
Fantastic! Looks like a pretty perfect holiday so far. No fish and chippies yet? That is an essential though!
*cough* are you sure that's a dog toy? Because...um...*cough*...you know...looks very similar to what Galaxy found on his walk a couple of years ago https://www.google.co.nz/amp/s/www....-news/dog-discovers-giant-sex-toy-8594188.amp
Wow, Monty, that looks like a fantastic holiday! What a bonus meeting Carbón. You must both be exhausted now!
Gosh Carbón is really gettting around. Love that the forum dogs are getting to meet up. Monty is having a brill holiday.
