Up until now (6 mos old) I’ve not left anything in the crate other than a good large (uncooked) femur bone when I’m not home. Any reason I can’t leave her antler? It’s about 8” so not a choking hazard. I’ve had them in and around the house for awhile but she’s just started to like gnawing on them.

    Thoughts?

Personally, I found antlers too hard, anything you can't make an indentation with a fingernail has potential to break teeth. I used frozen kongs or an extra large anco root which Bramble loved to chew and gnaw.

I've always kept my dogs away from anything that hard. I've heard of too many dogs breaking teeth on them.

Thank you. I don’t know what an anco root is. I’ll look it up. She lost interest in Kong’s...!

I prefer the Nylabone fake sheds (antlers) to the real thing. As others have said, real sheds are very hard, and can wear or break teeth.
