    Hello!
I have a 7 months old male lab.
2 weeks ago i noticed a mild limp in his right back leg. I had to leave him in my parents care for 2 weeks and they said that the limping stoped, but reappeared, stoped again. 3 days ago he started limping with his right front leg and the back leg isn't quite well either, but i don't know if its influenced by the problem with the front leg. He also keeps the leg somewhat lateral from his body. He doesn't seem to be in pain.
The vet gave him a 10 day treatment with mild antiinflamtories, since she thinks its growing pain.
But i am concerned for the back leg. Also, his legs are tall and somehow skinny compared to his body, but he is not overweigh. And is it normal in labs to have narrow hips? -compared to other dogs. He had intermittent soft stool during his development, but he tends to eat all sorts of stuff that he find on the ground, so we taught it may be from this. Could it be the food? Someone told me that if he asimilates poorly his growth may be affected and the soft stool may be from the food.

Any toughts? Should I get an x-ray, or should I wait to see if the treatment works?
    Thank you!

Hi there, and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear your pup has some problems.

Usually, if a vet prescribes a course of anti-inflammatory drugs they would want to see the puppy at the end of the course if there is no significant improvement (and sometimes even if there is) And before then, if the symptoms get worse. So I would definitely contact your vet on those lines, especially if you are worried.

There can be many different reasons for overly soft stools, changes in diet, large meals, stress, allergies and so on. How many meals does your pup have each day? And have you changed his diet recently?

    Hello! Thank for your reply!
The vet wants to check on him again after the treatment ends. Today he is walking better, and he is more active.

He had 3 meals until he was 6 months old. The vet said its ok to change to 2 meals a day. Maybe the larger meals were the problem. He lost his apetite after the change in the program. He has been eating the same food for about 3 months. He was quite hungry and ate his portions fast. I've changed his food 3 days ago, after talking to the vet that his tummy problems were back and she gave something else to see if he gets better. Yesterday his stool looked better, but it takes some time for him to defecate.
