Hello. I’m not sure if this is the right place for this or if I’m doing it correctly, but my dog, a 2 year old lab mix, Sara has a- well let’s just say a different tail. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a lab like this or if anyone knows why it’s like that! I adopted her from a shelter and her tail was as is. There isn’t any pain with the tail or anything. It’s probably just genetic but I wish I knew more about it! Thank you! http://imgur.com/weiJYvc
Hi Salem, welcome to the forum! That does look a little unusual, glad it's not causing her any discomfort. Sometimes when dogs tails are broken they can heal crooked if not properly set. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will be able to provide a more definite answer, though!
Difficult to really see with your photo. As Tom suggests it could have been damaged as a puppy or a genetic defect. What does your vet think it is? Welcome to the forum btw!
Excess Vitamin A given to bitches from days 17 to 22 of pregnancy, produced abnormalities and kinked tails. They usually don't cause the animal any pain at all or affect their life in any way except for how they look.
