I am looking for a lab puppy. I have lost my beautiful brown male lab at 13. He had a good life, taught dog obedience and had regular walks and swims and lots of love. I’m more choosy these day. I want one that is not so big and heavy as the current show dog profile. Would want chocolate, good hip and elbow scores and tested for the 3 major diseases.
    Any advice on NSW breeders?

I should add that I live in New South Wales Australia.

Hi @Gillarooney I don't know any breeders north of Tassie. But have you considered a female? Smaller in stature. Equally gundog lines can be lighter in frame than show dogs.
Sorry to read of your loss. One more for the rainbow bridge.

Look for a kennel that breeds dual purpose dogs. They are less exaggerated than show or working strains.
