So with the recent questions about weight and feeding and things I thought I’d post a few pics of buddy to get your opinions. As @Michael A Brooks and @Jo Laurens said, the only way to really know is by looking at your pup.

The vet was really happy with his body condition, I just hope he’s not too thin, but I am very conscious of the damage that being overweight can do, and I see soooooo many labs that are really overweight, quite bizarre. Anyway let me know what you think.....

And yes, that is a stair gate still in the box being used as a stair gate ha ha! It fits perfectly and it’s a type of gate that won’t fix to where I need it to..... does the job anyway:D

I think he looks great. He looks like a big boy. How old is he?
How much does he weigh now?

Our Lincoln is 19 weeks and 30 pounds.

Thanks Jade! Yes everyone keeps telling me how big he’s going to be! He was the biggest of the litter!

He’s just short of 5 months and around 13.5 kg last time I weighed him.

That’s good to know, i know there’s already a size and weight thread but I hoped by creating this thread it might help a bit more to know where we all are with things, and it already has!

Hi @Browneyedhandsomebuddy your Lab looks fine to me.

In the evaluation you should also run the palm of your hand along the body of the dog. There should be a layer of body fat covering the ribs, some body fat and muscle covering the pelvis and spine. if the vertebrae or pelvis are prominent, then your dog is too skinny. Ask owners of many dogs whether you can pet their animals. In doing so you gain experience in using your eyes and hands to evaluate their physiques.

At our last vet visit @ 20 weeks Dakota weighed 24kg/52.8lbs, 53cm/21in shoulder height. She's almost 22 weeks now. Just a big girl or over weight? After reading on here I get anxious at times that she might be growing a bit too fast. Just dont want her to have any problems later on :(. Tried to get a picture from the top, and wanted to know others opinions if I should cut back on food.:p Thanks!
