First day his stool was good, that was Saturday. He now has diarrhea. No blood, no mucus. He's eating and drinking fine. Sleeping fine. Am I too worried too soon? I mixed in a bit of brown rice with the food I was given by the breeder. It's still diarrhea. He plays, he seems ok. Am I overprotective? Yes. Friends say stress could do that, and I called the vet and they said to watch it for another day or two. Any opinions out there? Thank you!

Hi Maxx, Welcome to the forum!
It's really normal for puppies to have upset stomaches during the first days at a new home. After all, it's very stressful.
If the vet is happy for you to wait and see for a few days then that sounds sensible, but there is no harm in asking another vet for a second opinion if you are worried :)
Let us know how he gets along!

If runny poops continue for longer than a couple of days, I would do a 3-day course of Panacur 10% wormer - which you can get online without a prescription. It's the giardia dosage if you look on the instruction sheet that comes with it.

It's a very gentle wormer, frequently used for puppies anyway, and it just happens to be effective against giardia as well as worms. It's often what vets will try first anyway, before trying ABs. So you can skip a step by doing this first, before you go to the vet. Then just tell the vet you've already done this...

Everything has turned out fine. No more issues!!!! I think I got ahead of myself in the worry department, but who wants a sick puppy?? I don't! I wanna make sure I'm doing everything I can to make sure he's ok!
Now with the biting...OMFG!!! He's 8 weeks old, and is tearing me and my things apart already! Lol
Thank you for all who replied! Glad to be a part of this group!

That's great to hear - that he's feeling better, not that he's tearing things apart! Though at least that is also very normal for a puppy :)

Glad to hear he is feeling better. I tend to over worry about my puppy a lot too. Crazy how something that seems as innocent as diarrhea can give you a scare and make you closely observe their poop to make sure it looks good.

Not that I do that or anything......or do I? :)
