He's 6 months old and currently 35 pounds. I feed Purina Pro Plan Sport 30/20 @ 496 kcal/cup I give him one cup morning and one cup night. Does this sound right? I've tried adding a third meal but it gives him digestive issues.
Hi Jade, The best way to tell really is to look at your puppy. Does he seem slim but not too skinny? There some helpful information on feeding Lab puppies in this article, which also covers quantities. And information on telling by eye whether your Lab is the right sort of weight in this article.
That is the amount my dogs got when they ate kibble and it worked well for them. It seemed to be pretty much the same regardless of which kibble we fed. If that helps as a reference point.
Thank you so much. That's very helpful. He does well on that amount. Perfect stool and no issues. I just wanted to be sure I'm feeding enough.
I would say I'm at about 2-3 cups a day depending on training. Some days I will train him with his kibble more than others and these are the days that he will eat a bit more through out the day.
