I have a lab that is 11 years old and we have been giving her glucosamine chondroitin for a few years now. Her dr also subscribe galliprant. She does pretty well. We live in a ranch style home so she has no stairs to go up and down we just visited our sons house and he has lots of stairs. She had some problems with them.. I was looking up some information on glucosamine and I found one with turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper.. I take this supplement myself for my inflammation of arthritis and it helps so I was thinking that maybe this is a good thing for my dog also. Have you ever heard of this helping animals? NikaTassie
We tried the Tumeric Paste for our Airedale Terrier but it didn't seem to make much difference. Omega 3 Fish oil seem to help the most.
You can always try adding golden paste to her meals and see how she does. It helps my boy along with other things, please send me a pm if you are interested in the supplementation which works for me. I had issues writing about it on this forum because of lack of scientific evidence, but it definitely works for my boy who has arthritis in elbow/hip/spine, and who is still an active 12 1/2 year old.
Hello , I would be very grateful to hear of the supplements you give to your Lab . We too have a 12 and half lab who recently is showing signs of arthritis in his legs and elbows. Our vet has today put him on Gabapentin and Previcox. I’m really wanting to try other alternatives for him . Many thanks
