Hi. My 9 month old was neutered on Thursday and he is already trying to play and run around. Any suggestions how to calm him down?
Hi, we had our 17 month lab done last month, she is super active and always chasing squirrels etc but she was very good, we kept her restricted in kitchen and lounge, lead walk in garden for 7 days until check at vets for all clear, she then allowed short walks down our street then after a fortnight she could go for longer, I was amazed at how well she coped as she is a such a high energy dog
There it is. I wouldn't be calm either if I had to eat frozen monarchs! I suggest you do some scent work. Has a very calming influence.
Did you vet tell you how long he had to remain "calm" for? Our girl was 7 days (I think) but a male may not be quite so long.
We also did some calm scent work and lots of food allowance hidden around room and in her toys! Also lots of kings some frozen and some not! I love a frozen ice pop!
We had to use some sedatives on Cooper after her spay. Both she and Tilly (years ago) came into the house and jumped over the couch first thing. Cooper had a pretty rough surgery, but did not have to wear a cone while she recovered.
