Hi, I am the proud mom of a 10 week old choc lab. His name is Logan, he found his voice . A high pitched bark that is giving the family a chocolate lab headache lol. It wouldn’t be bad if it was once in a while but it is frequent. I have already used tips from this forum and appreciate them, they have worked. But none on puppy barking. From things I have read I believe we will be friends for many years. Thanku

Hi and a very warm welcome to the forum! You can find some tips for dealing with barking here - but generally ignoring is the best remedy. When they learn that it doesn't have an impact on your behavior they tend to stop, although it can be quite deafening in the interim :)

Hi and welcome from me and my 12 month old choc lab Isla. Isla was the same and barked at everything and everyone, she also barked for attention and when she didn't want to do something!

We tried to ignore her if we could and tell her"quiet" if she stopped we rewarded her with praise and a treat.

She finally understood and now only barks sometimes in excitement,so hang on in there it will improve

Thanku and Isla so much! It is nice to hear positive ansewers, and have hope to hold on to that it will get better lol. Labs are all new to me, I didn’t realize how different they are to train. My next challenge is , getting him used to a collar, I never had a dog that had a problem with that. He is sooo cute though, I love him so much. Thanku again

He looks a real cutie, gorgeous. New will probably hate the collar,Isla did, lol. Persevere tho as he'll soon get used to it.

We did it for small periods of time after letting her see it and sniff it asks treating when she didn't try to get at it.

It's all fun and laughter owning a lab!
