Hi everybody, My puppy is 6 months old and eats every thing, every kind of food, paper, my socks, our wood furniture, etc. Do you have suggestions?
Hi @Aurela Socks? The dog should be prevented from having access to laundry/bedrooms Furniture? When not supervised place your puppy in crate. Paper? Put the papers away. Every kind of food? Prevention. Put the foods the dog should not eat in either the fridge, or cupboards. Give the puppy access to things she is allowed to chew. Frozen food filled Kongs for example.
Hi Aurela, This isn't actually that uncommon with Labs, although it's certainly surprising when you've not come across it before We've got an article on dealing with dogs who eat everything here. Let us know how you get along!
I don't think the reason your puppy is eating everything, is because she is hungry. (She may also always be hungry, but that's a separate issue!) Instead, she is just being a Labrador puppy and very chewy. Have a read of the article Lucy has listed above and look around the forum, because this is a common problem and there's lots of good advice here about it. Second, with the always being hungry: See this as a good thing. It means your puppy is going to be very food motivated and trainable. But don't respond to her hunger by feeding her more and more - or you will end up with an obese dog!
