Hi all, I do not have a labrador I have a cockapoo, but the advice I need is general - How many of you out there have the correct definitive answer to this question.

I have taken my bitch to the vet and also have involved a qualified, animal behaviourist - The question is -

Do you remove phantom puppies, and discourage nesting behaviour in phantom pregnancies?

Yes, remove toys, reduce food and increase exercise (a lot) and she should be ok after a couple of days.
Then get her spayed next month.

My last dog went into a state of chronic phantom pregnancy after being spayed. We'd waited 4 months from her previous season which I believe is the recommended interval. She was older though (13), and I think her hormones were already deranged as she only started having false pregnancies late in life.

Hi why remove the toys? Wouldn't this be more distressing? Also if it is just one specific stuffed toy will she just go get another, is that why put them all away?

Also taking away the "toys" wouldn't this cause more depression and mourning?
