Title says it all. H has taught himself to open doors. All doors. All the time. So now he just let's himself into anywhere whenever he wants. I have to keep the front door locked every single moment of the day or he cam let himself off out into the street. My daughters bedroom when shes asleep. Basically no way to keep him out! I didn't train this skill, he figured it out himself. Is there anyway to stop him doing it? Thing is he doesn't tend to do it when there is someone in the room with him.
You might be able to try putting grip and twist doorknob covers on until he gets the hint – they’re $3 at Walmart. I know this must be super annoying and worrisome for you... but I can’t help but think it’s pretty impressive.
My brother had a Weimaraner that did this. It drove him nuts. In the end he took the door handles off and out them back on upside down !!!
If they are lever handles, there are child proof attachments you can put on the door that will stop him. The ones my son has can restrict the lever from up, down or both, but you can still open the door.
