hi All, newbie parent but fostered a lab the past 1.5yrs since graduated in AA.
We brought home our new boy from a reputable breeder, is being fed the same food as in the kennel. He's on the lower end of the weight chart ATM, but dad is quite large and mom slightly below avg.

I realize that there is an adjustment period upon coming home but he poops quite a bit during the day.(10 times, always in roughly same side of yard) I say day because he, this being his 3rd full day with us, picked him up Thur afternoon, does not poop at night when taken out. His first night whimpers to go pee only, 3 times, then only twice the 2nd night and once last night but that was because I took him out and then not til after 7 this AM again when I took him out not because he asked. No poop at all.

The AM poops are normal colour, solid, not dry, but is soft serve by evening. He is also on probiotics with yogurt twice a day and also on his dewormer. I have added a touch of pumpkin to his kibble as well as trying some wet food to see if his appetite would pick up.
He's otherwise playful alert and happy. Just trying to get an idea when I should reach out to the vet. The breeder says the frequency is normal at this age, and read others don't think so.

apologies for the lengthy post but TIA for any direction

    cheers

What's the dewormer, how much are you giving him and how often?
Also, what are you feeding him?

hi, 3ml/day of Panacur given in his yogurt which also has 1/4tsp of probiotics, which was rec from the breeder. We actually took him into the vet as he has diarrhea this morning right after 2 regular stools. Getting them checked for giardia, otherwise vet says he's fine WRT.

We have him on TLC puppy food, which is what they have been feeding him at the breeder so felt that it might ease his transition to his new home. He's very indifferent to it, sometimes with pumpkin he'll have some of it, other times with wet can food/kibble. Might take kibble as treat on its own, but other times turns away.

how may days have you been worming him for?
Also, is it possible you are feeding him too much?

    My little boy pies is
Hi my little boy pies (8 weeks)
He usually poos 3 times in the day and maybe one throughout the night but not always :)
His poo was very soft to first couple of days but we are now getting harder poos still a squish but solid :)
He had his jabs yesterday and the vet said his belly was because of stress but we were given probotic if they go back to being really soft :)

    Teide and pies :)
