advice on introducing 5 week old granddaughter to 1 year old lab

    Hi all any advice on introducing granddaughter to very lively I year old lab what are the best ground rules that all the adults should follow ?

    I wouldn’t introduce them at all until your dog is much older.

    I guess if she's only 5 weeks old she will always be attended by an adult and as long as that's the case should be fine. With children, I hold my two back until they've politely greeted (ie sit, don't jump), and after a few minutes they usually calm down. One doesn't like small children at all and goes to bed in his crate when they visit, the other thinks they are playmates, and needs to be calmed right down. Small kids need to be told not to run around, or the pups will think it is a game of chase.

    that’s what we did worked fine
    also as we had set boundaries with ruby re not being allowed in sitting room whilst we eatting
    that worked re having Bady on floor re changing nappies
