She was healthy happy bouncy chocolate lab and we loved her so much, she woke on weds with what we thought was a stiff leg took to vet who confirmed, but her demeanour was wrong head low, didn't get off her bed, got so stiff in two days, couldn't stand without help , back to vet told keep moving 10 min walk.no better back to vet, tests showed nothing then, hypercalcimia, but still couldn't find cancer, more tests. All the time our little girl was getting weaker, lost fur on muzzle slowly swelled, nose changed.
Admitted to hospital more tests, then a week later no cancer rare auto immune disease, manage with steroids, that was Friday, Monday call she could come home, my poor poor girl looked so frail, thin, face and eyes covered in swelling and lesions but she was home we had mess she was going to be ok. Then breathing seemed different laboured rang vet take back to hospital, by time I go at her there she was so unwell,
    Rushed her away,
Blood clot on lung, didn't respond to oxygen, I had to say goodbye, cuddled her until she was gone.

But our hearts are broken and a light has gone out, we don't know what to do with ourselves.
I worry we let her down, didn't push hard enough with vets finding a cause then she was too weak.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful girl. I'm sure the grief is still very raw. Losing a pet suddenly and under such traumatic circumstances is bound to have left you reeling. But please believe me that no one reading your story will ever think you could have done more for Frankie. You got her veterinary care when she needed it, and were with her at the end. I hope that in time you'll be able to look back on the good times you shared with her with a little less pain. Best wishes.

I am so so sorry for your loss.

Please try to be kind to yourselves,it sounds like you did everything you could for your girl. We lost our precious girl suddenly two years ago. It's a dreadful ,awful feeling, but in time it will feel better and you will smile when you think about her.

I don't know if it will help you but we brought a pretty box and put our girls favourite toy, blanket, collar and lead and later her ashes into it. This helped us to feel that we were still looking after her.

    Sending lots of love.
