Our lab will be 2 next month. Sadly our 12 year old lab passed away end of Nov and we are really feeling it's time to get another puppy. Our almost 2 year old has gained some fears he never had since out other one passed and never realized how much of a comfort he was to our puppy.
Anyways names, we are really stuck on names. We want a unique name and every name we like we know of someone with a dog with that name. Our 12 year old labs name was Harley, and our almost 2 yr old is Oakley, can anyone share with what names you have? We want something masculine, we like Diesel but know someone with that name already. Any names you could share??? thanks

Do you have any Welsh heritage or connections , I could suggest plenty of strong Welsh names! My dog’s name is Gwenni, it suits her I think

I think that you need to wait to meet your puppy first.

So true, Meg was not Meg until we got her. She was originally Rainbow

Definitely agree we need to meet the puppy first, but we are still going over names. I'm not a fan of human names for a dog not to mention most of the human names I would use are names of some of my daycare kids and that would be weird, lol. We are really liking Baxter, Bentley, Samson or Jax but still thinking. Thanks for the tips I'll check them out. I like Meg and Gwenni haven't heard either of those and that's what I like. I like Diesel but we know someone with a dog that name.

Ooh I like Jax because it can't be shortened, whereas the others can and then don't sound so unusual as you said you'd like that. Good luck finding a puppy

ours is Kyko (Keeko), also in the running we had Seamus, Paco, Pacito & Hananya. For girls we liked Trudy, Hebe or Kiki (although we call Kyko Kiki anyway). We don't like 'normal' names

How about Merlin for a boy or Guinevere for a girl?

I rescued a orange cat and named him Orion and when I decided I wanted to get a puppy I was set on getting a boy puppy and naming him Sirius so his name could match Orion and the mythology about Orion but well life happens and the male puppy I originally wanted another family had already applied to adopt him and then I found a second male puppy and he was reunited with his owner and then suddenly I came across an ad for this amazing looking puppy I had no clue it was a female until I read the description and I was going to pass but I couldn’t so I applied and was approved I wanted her to also have a constellation name I seen Celeste on a site and seen it meant heavenly and it just seemed perfect for her ❤️
