So a few weeks ago we took Lucius to have an allergy test as his skin is continually flaring up and nothing seems to be working.

We had our results back and we were very shocked with the results! So he is allergic to beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, pork, rabbit and white fish as well as maize.

Our vet thought it was a pollen allergy but he isn't allergic to any tree pollen or grass pollen or any dust mites or danders.

So now we found the only meats he can eat are venison , duck and salmon . Makes it a bit harder for treats and chews but we've already started him on duck and venison which is already going great. No itching so far and he's feeling a lot better in himself!

Wow! That's quite a list - no wonder you were having trouble avoiding all of it! Glad you've got the information you need now, I hope Lucius stays well (it doesn't sound like a bad life, dining on venison, duck and salmon every day ;))

Thank you for the help! I have been looking for treats for him recently as we thought maybe some carnilove treats (salmon and blueberry) were ok for him but after reading the packaging we found out most of the carnilove treats (i haven't checked all of them) have chicken fat in, which was also making him itch.

So for a temporary treat until I can get out to get him some which will be in the next few days Ive been giving him air dried apple only for coming inside or as an occasional treat as apple can be quite acidic for him.

Your welcome! They are amazing and Luna will do anything for them, as soon as you pick one up she will sit and start giving you paws or waiting for what you want.

Can you use carrot and cheese to help mix it up a bit. Of course the cheese is higher in calories but helps give him a tasty treat.

Gosh that's a lot of foods to be allergic to but great that you now know what to avoid.
