Hi Nicola and welcome to the Labrador Site

I am sorry to hear you lost your old friend last year.

The lab in your avatar looks a very handsome boy, I will have to get some decent 'photo upload' instructions in the help section as you are not
    the only one having difficulties.

Look forward to hearing Teddy's training adventures! :)

Hi my name is Clair, and I own along with my husband 2 gorgeous Labradors Storm & Skye.

I'm relatively new to forums, but couldn't resist getting involved with this one...as our love for the breed is immense.. :)

As you can see from my pic Storm our Chocolate 7 yr old boy and Skye our Black 4 yr old girl are sharing Storm's basket, much to the disgust on Storm's face. Storm is what I'd term as a "show" type Lab and Skye is a "typical" working lab...they bring so much joy to our lives, I could go on forever talking about our experiences with the breed..

    Anyway bye for now.

    Clair .... :)

    Hi Nicola & Clair

welcome to the site, I was new too only a week or so ago - I warn you now it is addictive!

We now need an owner of a Goldie to join today and that'll be one of each colour all at once!

Yes I know technically Red is a shade of yellow but still... ::)

    Hi Everone

Nick and I are very lucky to own Whisper, sadly she had to stop her training due to injury but we are still hopeful that she will recover fully and continue in a few months time, she showed great promise.
(Her mother Tralee has just produced 8 gorgeous puppies, one of which we are excited to say is also coming to live with us!)

We have very recently moved to North Cornwall and would love to hear of events in this area please.

    All the best

    Hello i'am flynnsdad,
flynn is our new 5 month old black lab, and i certainly don't want to dissapoint anyone but i think he is probably the most gorgeuos black lab that has ever ever ever been born, i'am enjoying roaming around this invaluble website i have much to learn,
flynn is not our first dog but he is our first lab and already i can see he is a bit wilful, no i won't come back, no i won't drop it, we are going to have to go head to head but i'am the alpha male in this house, i have my wife's permission to say that, i will certainly be looking for tips from anyone, he is showing great promise really, and i just want to build on that, here's looking forward to many interesting topics and discussions, regards Phil

    Re: Welcome to the forums

Hello , I`m Kate , I live in Cornwall , ten mins from the coast and five mins from the moors, perfect Labrador land :) I have Sam , an eight month old dear boy who has given us much happiness in a sad time of losing two dogs in the past 9 months, one of them quite young . He is a delight, very calm and bidable and now that he is old enough, its great to be able to take him for longer walks . I am lucky in that we have a field on the edge of our village where dog walkers are allowed to go and so since being quite young, Sam has met and played with a variety of dogs almost every day so its got him well socialised . My husband and I look after our four year old grandson two days a week , he and Sam are the very best of friends , Sam becomes a horse for Silas`s teddy bear on a regular basis and takes it all in his stride :)
Sam is my fourth Lab , I`ve had gun dogs with JRT`s all my life and couldnt imagine life without a Lab :)

    Re: Welcome to the forums

    Hello

just joined the forums but have been reading the posts on the main site for a while, out of all the lab resources I have read the Labrador Site really reflects my experience of the breed much more accurately than any others - wish I had found it when my two dogs were puppies. Not that they are old now. Both under 2 ... a fox red, Mylo and a chocolate, Castro. My boys !!

Will try and upload pic but cant seem to get the attachments tool to work just now .

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

Look forward to seeing pics of your two labs.

There is a post here about using Flickr to put photos on the forum, and if you have any problems, you can email me your .jpgs and I will post them up for you. :D

    Hello everyone

I came across The Labrador Site for the first time whilst surfing yesterday and thought, "What a good idea - I'll join that" and here I am! We have a four year old chocolate labradoodle called Oscar. He is our first dog and is an absolute pleasure to have around. We've had him since he was 3 months old and he's one of the happiest dogs going. We took him to puppy training and I'm now thinking of enrolling him for Good Citizen lessons. He does some of the Gold challenges without thinking about it but some of the Bronze ones, sadly, not at all. The main downside is he is so enthusiastic (nosey!) that he has to be everywhere first to see what's happening. It would be nice to arrive places with a bit more dignity but it's not that much of a downside!

This site looks really interesting and we're looking forward to 'meeting' new friends.

    Cheers for now.

Hi Alison! Welcome to you and to Oscar :D

The Good Citizen scheme is a great idea, and most people seem to really enjoy working their way through the awards. Look forward to hearing how you and Oscar get on
