Hi, my friend is on holiday in Crete at the moment, and she has an 8 month old chocolate labrador called Lola who I have agreed to look after for 2 weeks. She has been here for a day now, and she has a few nasty habits. I have had 2 pet guinea pigs for a few years now, and Lola is absolutely mad about them! (I have tried putting the guinea pigs indoors but there is no difference!) She has this thing where she likes to eat her feces, including that of herself, other dogs, and even our guinea pigs! Lola was allowed to run about in the garden as she wished when she first arrived, but I realised this morning that she was actually eating all the guinea pig poo! After that I built a huge barricade separating off the garden, made from benches and all sorts of garden ornaments. Its about 4-5ft tall. Lola easily pushes it down and now I have to supervise her most of the time! Thanks and please try and help! Any ideas are OK!

I think you will struggle to make any changes in a 2 week visit. At 8 months labs are very curious and excitable, you home sounds very new and interesting to her. Did she have a trial before she come to stay ? Did your friend know you have Guinea Pigs ? I think the best you can do is exercise her lots so she is tired and keep her away from the guinea pigs, it is too much to expect her to not be interested in them. Treat her like a big puppy, she really does not know what is expected of her. I am sure she is adorable.
