My 8 year old yellow lab has a mammary mass that the vet wants to remove surgically. Is this a dangerous surgery? I rescued her almost two years ago; she was abandoned by the breeder who made her have litter after litter and then discarded her in the woods. She was spayed after the shelter found her and I then adopted her. I want to do best by her. Appreciate any feedback anyone has on this surgery.

    Hi there,

I'm afraid I don't have any experience to share, but I wanted to post and wish you both good luck - I hope the procedure goes smoothly and she makes a quick recovery x

Bless her, how wonderful she has found you, such a well deserved loving home. I don’t have any real dog experience of this surgery, but in humans it is pretty routine, I would be pretty confident it is the right thing to do and trust your vet. Let us know how she gets on.
