    Hi all,

My puppy is 13 weeks and is driving me a little insane if I am honest.

I have a couple of problems I don't know why he is doing it and don't know how to stop!

During the day his biting isn't to bad but whenever I tell him no (normally when I am eating) he lunges at me and tries to bite. And he normally goes for my face...when he bites it really hurts, I don't know what I am doing wrong. How do I stop him and why is he doing this?

When I stroke him he also tries to bite.

Finally when playing he also tries to sit on me or jumps on my chest as to try and over power me.

I may be over thinking the above but want to know I am doing the right things and bringing up a happy well rounded puppy.

Thank you in advance for the advice!!!!

    Heidi and Cooper

Perfectly normal, and don't worry, your 13 week old puppy isn't trying to overpower you; it's just great fun and he enjoys your reactions.
Puppies are at their very worst when they are over tired.
If he's doing it at predictable times, then it may be an idea to pop him in his crate for a snooze or a chew for a while before he gets silly.

Thank you, I will try popping him in his crate 15 minutes before his bed time. He really is a lovely puppy apart from his biting but I know this is a puppy thing so it fine. It's the lunging that is scary. My face isn't anywhere near him. He will be sitting next to me and then suddenly lunge, he caught my cheek this evening and it definitely hurt. :( X
