Ah! A Labrador’s usually waggy tail gone limp is a sorry sight. Poor Toby. He usually wakes us up around 6.30 with a little whine but this morning I was up first. Greeted by a poorly dog not able to wag his tail and at a funny angle. He was obviously in a lot of pain. £86 vet trip later and he is perking up but not the tail yet! 3-4 days apparently to hopefully be back to full force. Probably caused by swimming in cold water yesterday followed by the over excitement of my daughter coming back home to stay.
It is also called Cold Tail. A lot of swimming has caused it in our labs a couple of times. Ginger did not seem to bothered by it, but perhaps it was a lot less severe. She got over it in a couple of days.
A couple of my dogs have had it over the years and I now always make a point of drying their bums and tails when we get back to the car. Very painful for a couple of days, but he'll be fine. Give him a snuggle from me x
Yes definitely on the mend today. No longer looking sorry for himself. Hope all is well with you and your lovely brood.
