Our female lab has developed a sore on her nose. We aren’t sure what’s up and wonder if it’s from chewing on a rawhide toy she got for Christmas. let me know your thought Thanks! Mike
Hi Mike Welcome to the site. There are many reasons for sores. Including rubbing/scratching hotspots. If you think it could be a lump get her to the vets for an aspiration to rule out anything else. Keep us posted.
Thank you for your reply! I posted a picture of her nose. seems to be better today. Happy New Year! https://www.flickr.com/photos/20595144@N07/shares/R78G6j

Bless her thst looks sore, what does your vet say ? Skin conditions are often difficult to pinpoint a cause. Looks like it might need some prescription creams to resolve ?
Haven’t taken her yet due to holidays. It’s cleared up a bit. Have read that Betadyne might be good to clean it up. Have you ever heard of that? Thanks for your response and Happy Née Year!
When mine rubbed a hotspot on the top of his head I was told I could use Savlon however that really needs to be put on a clean wound. I was bathing daily with cooled boiled water. Most importantly is to make sure she doesn’t introduce more germs by scratching it. Do you have a cone or similar you could use until you can get to the vets?
I agree with what is said up in the page, according to the quote "rubbing/scratching hotspots", and i also think its very common causes of sore nose. I hope your pet gets well soon.
