Eye hair puppy

Hi,

I have a 12 week year old Labrador puppy that has hardly any hair around his eyes. He is not a naturally hairy pup, belly is bald as are armpits. Will the hair around the eyes grow with age? He’s black

 

Is he otherwise healthy?

 

Yes perfectly healthy. I have seen in some pictures of puppies a similar thing. Mainly chocolate labradors though. I’m hoping it will grow with age. Would put a picture but can’t seem to do it

This looks like more than just a little bit of hair loss. If he were mine, I would pop him to the vet to see what they think. It might just be mites or something.

 

Sounds like it might be mange. You should go to the vet for treatment.

 

The vet was pretty happy, said it’s likely that he will grow hair there as he develops. He also has a very bald stomach area. She discounted mange and said it’s nothing to worry about
