Our 11 year old Lab named Abbey, was diagnosed a week ago with osteosarcoma in her right rear leg. She has a large solid mass growing fast. She has a slight limp but for about 3 weeks she has had a slight wheezing from her lungs. Our vet knew it before the X-ray and told us that by the time we noticed it, it has spread to her lungs. He suggested that we put her down. I have had to do this several times before and it is just so hard to say goodbye. I know it is best to spare her the inevitable pain that will worsen. So she probably has had this for a month or so. Given the time frame of a couple months only I just can’t see amputation and chemo for her. I want to save her from breaking her leg and the agonizing pain that she would go through. If anyone has any personal experience with this, could you please reply so I could hear others experiences. I know from our vet that he says a day to early is better than a day too late. Thanks for reading this,
Thank you, she went very peacefully at 1:34 today with in home euthanasia. I am just glad we spared her any more pain.
Oh man again sorry for your loss. I try to remember the good times and think of my girl every day! Take care!!
