After almost 4 weeks with Mac I'm still getting bitten. It calmed down a little but now he has been out on walkies this past week it's getting bad again. On top of the play biting and jumping he now snaps when I try to correct him. He is on a houseline and when I reach for it stop him damaging things eg. Eating the edge of the rug he turns towards me with his teeth bared. If I'm not fast enough he gets my hand and bites . I must be doing something wrong because we don't seem to be making progress. Please help.

Hello, I didn’t correct Meg as it’s a developmental stage, and passes about 16 weeks when their teeth drop out. I distracted her with things she could chew, frozen carrots, kings and endless cardboard boxes. She did not have access to the front room until this phase was over, I moved everything out of reach and had stair gates everywhere. A bit like toddler proofing you house, but does not last as long. Hang in there, it really does pass, but you have a few weeks yet.

I just need to be sure I'm not letting aggressive behaviour go unchecked. I feel I do need to correct the rug chewing because I don't want him to choke obviously. My jeans pockets are always bursting with nylon bones or small tug ropes to distract him but when he refuses to leave the rug I grab his houseline and he just turns his mouth towards me. If this is a normal process I can deal with it but I don't want to let it go if he is showing aggressive tendencies. Thanks for your response. Something to think about

Ditch the bowl. Go too a hand feeding diet and distract with food. It's doing it because it gets something out of it. Offer it an alternative. Foods the easiest.
It's what we are doing with are boy.

He's teething and into everything. My hands are a mess but since doing that things only go bad when he gets tired and I don't realize in time.

Hi Chris, I currently give my 15week puppy about 2/3 of his daily food in a bowl and then use the other 1/3 as treats/training rewards. Although the biting is getting a little bit better, it is still pretty intense and as you say "my hands are a mess". I think I will try eliminating the bowl entirely and see if there is improvement. Thanks for posting this.
