Good morning everyone. I came across this forum while doing a little research on our new 9 week old silver lab. I’m going to enjoy looking around and reading up on some tips during his early up bringing.

I know the “controversy” surrounding this pedigree but I couldn’t care less, the naysayers can save their breath as I don’t listen to ignorance. Our new puppy is gorgeous, highly intelligent, and a pure Labrador in every sense of the word and stature.

Just thought i’d post a welcome before I look around the forum. Thanks for having me.

Just curious as to why my post was put in moderation, and is still in moderation 8 hours later?

Hi Cajun, welcome to the forum! Your puppy is gorgeous, I'm very fond of Labs with non-standard colours and markings, despite the debate around them!

In answer to your question, all new members have their first two posts moderated - just to check you're a real person, and not a bot signing up to post spam :) The time delay is due to the fact most of the mods are based in the UK :)

Thank you for letting me know, and thank you for the kind comments concerning my Ronin.

My ex-wife and her husband are the breeders of him. They have one pair of silvers they breed once a year, Cash is the sire and Beaux is the dam. Both are family pets but Cash is also a very well-trained duck dog. My wife and I lost our Maltese of 12 years this Spring, so when my ex mentioned they were planning to have another litter this Summer, I had to have one. His retriever desire is strong so i'm planning to train him to be a duck, quail, dove, and pheasant dog.

Welcome to the forum! I got my pup at 7 weeks from the breeder in June, and honestly, I never would have survived the first 2 months with Sophie without the support of the other puppy owners in this group. I got lots of great advice and also it was nice just to know someone understood my struggles as a single, work from home brand new puppy owner (never had a puppy, only grown dogs). Sophie is now 5.5 months old and I still come to this forum for advice on new challenges. Let us know if you need anything!
