Need help training my lab to wear boots & socks. He just doesn't like wearing them and keeps throwing them away. The place where we stay gets really hot and the asphalt keeps burning. I am really confused, neither he wear the shoe nor goes outside because of the heat.
I think I'd be inclined to say that if the roads/pavements are so hot as to need to wear shoes, then it is likely to be too hot to be walking your dog. Could you take him out early or late when it's cooler? Or drive somewhere for him to swim?
I tried taking him out for a swim. I even bought swimming shoes for him, but he doesn't want to wear them again.

Mine's an avid swimmer in the pool. So, shoes become a necessity to protect pool liners and his paws.
