Our puppy Belle, 10 months old, has a thing about coir matting, it has to be destroyed whether fixed or free standing. She eats it and literally destroys it in a massive frenzy of activity. Is there a history of coir matting phobia in lab puppies ?
Its probably not a phobia but most likely feels nice on teething gums. They do get a bit chewy at that age. When does she do it? Can you redirect her, frozen kong full of something nice instead ?
OMG, our lab does exactly this - we have had to throw out two mats we had and we have a fixed one in our hall by the front door and he is intent on lifting it up. He takes his chew toys there as if he is going to play with them and then slyly starts chewing... we have found the Grannicks bitter apple spray works when we spray that on anything he chews so worth a go?
