    Hi all

Well, it has been a while but I’m glad to be back! Bella our yellow lab is 8 now and next week we are collecting our 8 week old fox red puppy, Wilma! I am feeling mostly prepared and have re read all of Pippa’s books / watched the kikopup videos and I am ready to get back into clicker training.

I’m just wondering how best to manage the sleeping arrangements. When I had Bella she slept in her crate with me upstairs for a few weeks, but as Bella will be downstairs now I’m wondering if Wilma would settle with her (Wilma will be in her crate next to Bella). I could stay with them both on the sofa first night , I’m just not sure taking the puppy upstairs and leaving Bella downstairs would be a good move. What have others done when getting a second dog? I’ve also got one of those heartbeat pillows and will wrap in an old t shirt to put in her crate.

Have others found the puppy picks up training quicker with an older dog e.g recall etc? Thanks :)

    Any tips welcome!

Hi, welcome back ! Wilma is a great name. I have always crated the pup next to the older dog and it's always worked well with various combinations of dogs over the years. Good luck and keep us posted.
