So glad Johnny recovered well from his surgeries. You will be glad that is all behind you. They have just started letting us back into the vets here in the Uk. Is Maggie’s skin condition allergy related?
Yes we think her skin problem is allergy related. The most irritating thing was the minute I got the specialist appointment her skin started to improve and still continues to do so. We can visit our regular vet with masks and social distancing but the specialist at the vet school involves handing the dog off and then speaking by phone from the parking lot. I should be grateful we're past summer when it was burning hot.
I hope she continues to improve for you. Toby’s problem at the moment seems to be itchy eyes but nothing obvious to treat. He enjoys a good rub up and down your trousers with his face!
I have been following your Harrowing Journey through the thread, I remember finding it previously when my Retriever had Cancer, sadly we had to let him go. We now have a Black Lab called Hector, a real box of frogs, most Boisterous dog I have ever had, Just found a lump on his left ear, started just a red lump thought it was a tick , but its not, two weeks later it has a crusty top forming on it , we are off to the vets tonight ...I also found a lump n his left side, I am worried sick...Hope your boy is still OK, I am beginning to suspect these Vaccinations for dogs are not beyond suspicion I Just hope we dont have to go through another dog getting cancer , the last one was 11 but this chap is only 3 years old.
I am so sorry to hear this. Can you believe I have just come back from the vets. Took him for his annual check up/jabs(I do leptospirosis annually because a friend’s dog died from it) The others are every 3 years I think. My daughter found a small lump on Toby’s side last weekend when she was lying on the floor and he was stretched out. I have no idea how long he has had it. The vet thinks it feels like a fatty lump but he is going in next Thursday to get it aspirated hopefully just on tranquillisers. He does not like being examined. He doesn’t growl but is very strong and won’t stand still. The lump on your dog’s ear sounds very familiar. Did they aspirate? My previous dog had lots of lumps with different names and had a toe removed. Non ever came back as malignant. Hang in there and hope for the best. Poor vet had to deal with me first. Just lost my mother-in-law with no warning and this was the final straw! Toby now exhausted from the excitement and stress and too many treats Keep posting.
