My Lab is 11+ yrs old. In good health otherwise. She has always had a habit of eating poop, which we are vigilant about preventing. She has a "weak" stomach and cannot eat human food or anything with oil in it w/o getting loose stool or vomiting.

She's had problems digesting several kibble brands (Kirkland 7-8 yrs), Royal Canin (1 yr). We switched to high protein (but less kibble) Origen Fit & Trim and that worked for over a yr. But lately she's developed intermittent diarrhea. We stop it with canned Royal Canin GI food. But within a wk after returning to Origen she has diarrhea again. This has been going on for about 2 months.

We've done every test the vet can think of and they all come back normal.

Is there any particular kibble brand that is easy on Lab digestion? Any thing else anyone can recommend?

Hi there. Is it feasible for her to just stay on the GI food that works for her? Or perhaps to try a mix of that and the Origen if the price of the GI food is prohibitive?

Has she had allergy testing at all?

The GI food is canned. It would be a pain feeding her 3-4 of those cans every week.

No allergy testing. I'll ask my vet about that.

I hear you about the cans being a nuisance! It might be worth discussing other alternative GI foods with the vet, if nothing comes up on allergy testing, perhaps.
