Harley has a dippy tummy again :(
Saturday morning she had hubby up at 6am as she needed to go for a poo......she went then came straight back to bed. I cleared it up when I got up - it was very loose stools.
I monitored her food closely yesterday and what treats she had (1 rice bone).
I was up with her at 4am this morning and again at 6.45am (this time is usually unheard of in my house on a weekend).
Her poos are very loose, watery and are a creamy white colour!
Going to do chicken and rice today and see how she goes, and phone the vet tomorrow if she still has loose stools.
Has anyone had creamy white stools? I've never seen one before!

Aw poor Harley, hope she feels better soon.

It's not unusual for dogs to have diarrhoea in the hot weather, I used to see it a lot in the kennels, it would last maybe 12-24 hours and then just clear up ok it's own, so hopefully that's all this is.

Oh no Ternaya, sorry she's upset....have had a lot of runny poo but never creamy in colour, could that be a clue to make you consider that she's eaten something she shouldn't rather as well as considering a bug?
The good old chicken and rice will be gentle on her tummy,is she her usual self apart from the runs?x

She seems ok in herself - sleeping a lot but she has been doing a lot of sleeping with the warm weather we are getting. Can't think of what she could of eaten that hasn't agreed with her - the only time I couldn't see what she was doing properly was when she ran into the woods yesterday, but she was gone seconds!
Chicken and rice today, then vets tomorrow if she's the same :(

Ah Ternaya, sorry to hear about Harley. I've never seen creamy white diarrhoea. Meg has been a bit loose these last few days, but was fine this morning. Maybe it is the heat, I know meg gets diarrhoea when it's really warm. Hope she feels better soon.

    Poor Harley.
from a human perspective, the darkening of the stool is caused by the bile acids which are stored in the gallbladder although made in the liver.
The quicker the bowels are moving, the less bile is collected if you like, and the paler the resulting poo.
In humans a problem with bile production or release (such as gallstones) can cause pale stools and dark urine but I have never heard anyone mention this as being a problem in dogs.
If I had to guess I would say its just the overall looseness. But as you know I am not a vet!!!
    Hope she settles :(

Pale faeces in the dog is the same as for humans which drjs@5 has said. It can be a problem in the long term, but in this case it is due to the diarrhoea almost certainly. However, if in any doubt, it is always best to consult a vet.
