Monday was the day that Barney and Jack could venture out of the gate after their jabs and waiting time. Jack was very scared, wouldn't even leave the garden, but Barney wanted to investigate. I carried Jack on the journey to the local shop as he was petrified (head buried under my chin like at the vets and shaking!) the traffic was quite busy and loud too.

Once we had been to the shop and crossed the main road, we put him down again and this time he was happy to join his brother for the walk home ;D. Lots of lead tangling as they kept swapping from me to my hubby lol. We went out again last night and he walked through the gate, a tad reluctantly, and happily walked down the street, but still spooked by cars and by grates in the road, and an old lady carrying shopping bags! Tonight was the best yet, not bothered about the grate, only a little bit scared of cars and when my friend stopped to talk to us they both greeted her with waggly tails.

They walk so close to each other, frequently touching cheeks to check the other is there, so i think we will get a double lead for them. We had one for our other two and they were brilliant on it.

Over the weekend we will go to the local field and let them have a run off lead, can't wait to see what they make of it as they love it when we open the gate from the patio onto our big garden.

Feel very proud of my boys :D

Sounds like it went well!! You can give them treats when scary things approach so they think the scary thing might not be so bad after all.

I'm sure that Jack took some confidence from Barney's brave approach :)

Sounds like this weekend will be fun - make sure to take lots of photos :)
I'm sure Jack will get used to the noises.......Harley used to flinch and walk hesitantly, after a few weeks of using treats and praise she was fine :)

Sounds like it's going well and jack is getting more confident already! Having a confident brother will help with this too as they will learn from each other.

You must get us some pictures when you take them to the field!! :)

Thanks guys, i will take some treats tonight :D Jack loves his treats, whereas Barney loves his dinner and lots of it lol. They are real show stoppers, everyone thinks they are such cuties. We've switched teir food, and fingers crossed they seem a little calmer on the new hypoallergenic premium one, a lot more playing together and less fighting requiring time out.

I will take some pics at the field over the weekend.

It's interesting how twin brothers, given the same environment and upbringing, can have different reactions and attitudes.

It is interesting, i have twin sons too who are 22 and they were the same when they were little. We also bought them 2 of each toy and they used to fight over the same one lol, we have two Kong and two Kong activity balls and they always want the same one!
