This is a question for you owners with labs who have hip dysplasia - but anyone else's opinion is welcomed too as always The last couple of weeks I've noticed a clicking sound coming from Penny as she wanders round the house. At first I thought it was her nails clicking as she walked but I've trimmed them a few times and I don't think it's them. I think some of her joints are clicking - possibly her hips as we know she has bilateral hip dysplasia. I was just wondering if any of you have come across this before? If so did you get it checked out by a vet, and what was the verdict? I've been a bit lax on doing Penny's physio exercises recently so her muscle tone has probably decreased a bit, which seems to have coincided with the appearance of the clicking. I'm thinking this could possible be the cause? I'll up her physio exercises for the next couple of weeks - try and do them every other day as we did in the beginning, and see if this helps, but if not it might mean another trip to the orthopaedic vet Just looking for thoughts really..
Re: Clicking joints Lilly's hips click terribly. You can feel them if you have your hand on her back as she walks. They have done that from quite early on. We weren't directed to do any specific physio, just encouraged regular activity. I guess it could be related to some loss of muscle tone if Penny has stopped the physio and this clicking has just started.
Re: Clicking joints I've messages Penny's physiotherapist to ask her opinion on the matter - whether she thinks we should see the vet or go back for another physio session so she can assess her.
Re: Clicking joints Barleys hips click when he has a scratch. No specific diagnosis on his hips yet. They also click sometimes when he stretches.
