I took Sam and Millie for a walk around the village an hour ago , both on lead and Millie wearing her bright blue buster collar which " should " make it obvious that she has a problem ::)
Walking ahead of us and in the same direction was a lady with a beagle on lead , she was having great trouble controling the dog who was bounding and spinning around on the end of its lead but as she was ahead of us, it wasnt a problem until she decided to turn round, now walking towards us . There was a point at which should could have stepped to one side with her dog, into the village pub car park but no , on she plods with the dog, now barking like a mad thing . I couldnt cross over the road at this point due to a wall at the side of me , she was almost level when her dog, on a very long lead , swung accross in front of her, heading straight for Millie , snarling and lunging . I quickly reached down and picked Millie up , Sam thankfully ignored the dog , we hurried on past the lady who simply said " Oh he is a naughty lad , he doesnt like other dogs at all and your terriers big collar has upset him "
Its not often I am speachless ...............

It beggars belief doesn't it? As if poor Millie hasn't had enough to deal with?!

Well done Sam for taking it all in his stride, and well done you for acting so swiftly.

Hope you are all okay Kate. I think some dog owners should wear collars saying "I AM A STUPID DOG OWNER"

To put an obviously sick/injured dog in that position is unforgivable and I'm not sure I would have remained speechless  xx

She's just lucky Sam is such a well-behaved, laid-back chap and didn't swing into defence of little Millie! Then I bet she wouldn't have been so unconcerned...

I don't know how I kept calm to be honest , the dog could have really caused damage to Millie , and after we have been so vigilant too , I always seem to think of what I should have said, when I get home ::)

Is she some sort of Mr Magoo character? She knows her dog doesn't like other dogs but she walks straight towards two approaching dogs! Either defective eyesight or defective in some other area ... ::) Anyway, well handled Kate.

Yes well handled Kate. Beggars belief doesn't it, some people? She knows her dog doesn't do well with other dogs but she still keeps walking towards you. Sounds like she didn't have a lot of control with her dog.

    Unbelievable!

A good thing you could pick her up, which couldn't happen with a big lab :(
