This afternoon for a short space of time I had two real Labradors !!!. ;D I was so pleased with them in fact I still am. A cousin of my mums who we haven't seen for a few years was in the area and called on my mum unexpectedly. I checked with her if she was ok with dogs. I knew she hadn't minded about Murphy but there is a massive difference between what Murphy was like and Scott and Scout. :-\. When she told me it was fine I explained it was very likely they would bark at her and the best thing to do was to completely ignore them. Don't look at them , don't talk to them and don't try and touch them. : Its been a few months since S&S have met a visitor who is a stranger to them. Last time they barked as soon as they went in the room, eventually stopped then barked every so often when the stranger tried to get familiar. I expected the same this time. :-\ but no !!! They went in picked up toys and proceeded to circle the couch doing a body wag pausing to show her the rope as they passed. Scott even dropped the rope and got a quick lick in on her hand. Scout put his head right over her knee. Friendly and happy like real Labradors. ;D After a few minutes I took them out so it didn't get too much then let them in again. I did this three or four times before I decided to stop before I pushed my luck. I have to say she was an excellent stranger she followed my instructions so at no point did S&S feel pressured so they didn't get scared and nervy. Brilliant !!!! ;D
