Re: Proper swimming - at last! She looks very relaxed there for her first swim. I just love photos of them in the water, lovely.
Re: Proper swimming - at last! it is so exciting when they have there first swim, no stopping her now, well done
Re: Proper swimming - at last! Oh she looks great, having a lovely time! I love seeing labs in water x I didnt really enjoy Dexters first swim as we were in a place that was security patrolled and he just took a run at his friend in the sea and leapt in,disappearing beneath the water....so I leapt in straight after him : A few weeks ago we were in some fresh water and my friends Spaniel started to swim after about half an hour of coaxing...of anyone had have pulled up,and seen us dancing around celebrating ...it is just the most wonderful thing seeing them do that push off and get their confidence x
Re: Proper swimming - at last! Well done Tatze 8) It's a great feeling when they first swim isn't it? It's almost as if, up until that point, you question whether they are actually capable of swimming. : Of course they can - they are Labradors!
Re: Proper swimming - at last!
Well done Tatze 8) It's a great feeling when they first swim isn't it? It's almost as if, up until that point, you question whether they are actually capable of swimming. : Of course they can - they are Labradors!
Well, when she was five months old I took her to a doggy swimming pool! She swam brilliantly and kept getting in for more, so I knew she could do it. But, 'in the wild' she just wouldn't take her paws of the ground in water! She loves loves loves the water - but, until now, something stopped her taking the plunge. SO I got some super smelly tripe sticks, threw the ball easily in her depth a couple of times, then just a yard out, then two, then three etc. The tripe sticks won her over. Today she had three tripeless swims - hurrah!
Re: Proper swimming - at last! Wonderful! Amazing what smelly favourite treats and a ball will do. Albert had sardines! So great to see them swimming. Jan
