We came back to the holiday cottage after shopping in Truro this morning. Lady jumped out of the back of the car and paddled off as usual with a hide bone I'd given her as a treat (cum bribe to get out of the car ::)). Much later - "Where's the dog?" Not upstairs, not on the lawn in front of the cottage, not in the field, not in the little wood - panic setting in!

Found her sitting forlornly on the doorstep of the empty cottage we stayed in in June. Poor lamb had got confused! She's now guarding the door in the correct cottage! ;D

She's basking in the sun at the moment, unconscious! Just about to get a rude awakening and a 5 mile walk. ;D

Saw the title and thought Oh no! So glad she is safe .my friends lab crossed 3 main roads to go back to their old house when they moved, the cleaner didn't see him go out the side gate. A neighbour rang her Husband to tell him the dog was sat on their old doorstep :'( .....I can't believe he got that far without someone stopping ...you NEVER see an unaccompanied dog in Dubai....

    Lucky indeed!

I actually thought she might have been pinched - not rational I know but it did go through my mind for a second.

Just got back from a lovely walk around St Agnes including some more swimming in the sea this time with waves! I threw a ball a good way out and then figured I'd lost it when Lady came back after meeting the first little wave. But an encouraging "find" got her off again and this time she swam through the waves, and responded to the stop and a cast when she was going in the wrong direction.

Anyway she is zonked out now in her towelling dressing gown. ;D

    :D

She's snoring at the moment. Walked the legs off her this afternoon including butt tucking on the beach with Springers, Labs and Schnauzers, and falling into deep rock pools making herself look silly, and she's now zonked out. ;D

I have what i thought was an irrational fear of dogs getting stolen, but on Sunday my friend's nieces choc lab was stolen from inside their house!, luckily through it being shared on facebook so quickly she was found, miles away but they got her back safe and sound. She lives in the next village to me, a 5-10 min walk. Very scary, we will be replacing our gate with a 6' one that will be padlocked next week, someone could just pick my pups up over the one we have now. We never leave them outside without supervision now either.

Glad Lady is safe and enjoying her hols 8)

Yes! I don't know the exact details yet, my friend is going to find out, so i'm not sure if they were in or out at the time, just that the patio door was wide open and the dog was gone. Terrifying thought :-[

Lady, you do keep us entertained ;D

Only towelling for Lady's robe? Surely silk or angora would be more appropriate? Ermine perhaps?

My most awful fear about being burgled is that the dog might get stolen. Everything else is replaceable; she's not. :(
