    Hello all

    A couple of questions?

    1) Hollie had her 2nd injection yesterday, 3 weeks after the first, we are all chomping at the bit to walk her and start her recall training........do we really have to wait a week!!!!!!!!
what is the minimum amount of 'safe' time to wait?????

    2) as a black lab, in certain light she looks chocolate, particuly her head and is getting more chocolate as she gets older.......is this normal????

    Thanks again
    Xxx

Gypsy has to wait another week too - she will then be 18 weeks old! (Guide Dogs have 3 injections 6,12 and 16 weeks as they had some problems with parvo in the past and now always err on the side of caution).

It's a long wait for your first free run!

We do lots of lead walks and recall training, but her first free run on grass will be next week. I will be nervous!

With Tatze we waited a week after her second injection, as advised by the vet.

    :)

I am aware that parental colour does not mean you wont get different colours.

Both Bouncers parents where pure black. Mum gave birth to a litter of 12 pups & every single one was as black as midnight. Very unusual, you would expect at least one to be yellow or choccy.

Mira did start to look quite brownish when she was a few months old but it faded.
She still occasionally has brown shading on her muzzle, ears and sometimes her body which seems to vary depending on whether she is moulting or not :D
Her dad was black, mum a beautiful fox red, pups were black and pale yellow :)

orion's mum was a beautiful choccy, his dad was a handsome yellow, and yet their litter of 10 was half choccy, half black!

    genetics is a wonderful thing.
