Well not quite. ;D On the afternoon walk we came across a really pathetic lamb wrong side of the fence. Lady bounced up to it most interested in all the wrong ways but responded to "NO - Leave it". Together we managed to get the field gate partially open about 200 yds away and then shepherd the lamb along the fence and into the field. The noise it was making was truly amazing for such a small creature! All the other adult sheep were most concerned and came charging over to rescue said lamb from the killer "one man and his dog". Anyway lamb reunited with mum and buried it's head in tight for a good reassuring feed. 8) Couldn't find a hole in the fence though - so there's a mystery and plenty of scope for more shepherding with small black dog tomorrow maybe.
Re: Small Black Dog Rescues Lamb Well done Lady (oh...and David). Have to admit I was hugely relieved on my Saturday (still dry then) walk when I took a right fork rather than a left fork - I was a 50yds up the narrow triangle when I spotted some escapee smal- black- lambs on the other track. You can see a couple of them the far side of the fence. Lilly would not have been so restrained as Lady I am quite sure! : jac
Re: Small Black Dog Rescues Lamb I'm not sure she's be a fan of black and white sheep tho! Or are they small enough not to be scary black white beasties?!
Re: Small Black Dog Rescues Lamb Is there no end to Lady`s talents ;D ;D Go lady, rescue ranger extraordinaire ;D ;D
Re: Small Black Dog Rescues Lamb Well in reality she's not much cop as a sheep dog. If left to her own devices I think it would have got a bit out of hand so she had to go on the lead.
