As the title says what toys do all your dogs really love to play with. At the moment Goldie only has a tea towel with a knot in it and a slightly disected rubber toy. I've ordered he a Kong so i can fill i with yummy things while im a work but would like to get he somethig she could chew on and play with herself so would have to be interesting. I wondered about those egg blass that fall in different directions? Or the ball in the ball toy? Its been a few years since i was in the market for dog "things" so a bit out of the loop with whats new and cool ;D
Re: really good toys? I picked up a couple of cuddly toys at a flea market last weekend (didnt tell the little girls what the fate of said cuddly toys was going to be...). 'Lamby' is now a huge favourite, and 'Seal' is waiting in the wings for when Lamby gets too boring or suffers disembowelment. Only 50p per toy!!
Re: really good toys? yes i am a regular now on the car boot sales, never pay more than 50 pence, some times get lucky and get them for 20 pence , thats when i go home loaded up , one or two days and he as knocked the stuffing out of them
Re: really good toys? I also buy stuffed toys at car boots or charity shops, then take them home and take their eyes out , always feel theres something not quite right about doing that :
Re: really good toys? Lovely photo Karen of your pretty girl and Lamby ;D Sams favourite is the aptly named Teddy Legless
Re: really good toys? Lady likes all her Kong toys. Everything else other than her wooly sheep that she's had since being a tiny puppy have been destroyed. An old football a bit on the soft side so she can grab it is good for play in the garden, and I got some good use out of a length of 3 inch tow rope. Best of all toys remain freshly planted up patio pots. :
Re: really good toys? Digby goes mad for a frisby.....and my boys footballs - many now popped and scattered around the garden. He loves to retrieve his dummy - it is the ONLY thing he will ever bring back to me and I had to clicker train the retrieve following the method in Pippa's blog about training her puppy Rachael. It took us a few weeks but we got there.
Re: really good toys? Obi has a Lamby too. Lamby no longer has a face and wishes he was purchased for a human child instead. A favourite toy round here is a kibble dispenser - the Bob-a-lot http://starmarkacademy.com/products/bob-a-lot/. We call ours the Bob-a-lina for some reason. This company (in link above) also make 'Everlasting Treat' toys that are made to fit compressed liver treats. They are good too, but they are not 'everlasting' for a Labrador - more like 30 to 40 minutes.
Re: really good toys? Oh no!!! Poor lamby!!! What is it with flower pots? All my dogs have loved plastic flower pots, the bigger the better. Poppy loves 'helping' me plant things in the garden. Her 'help' consists of rushing around the garden chucking the discarded pots around. Bones used to help me my considerately digging up the plants I had just carefully and lovingly bedded in... : I think that the key with toys is to swap them out every now and then. A dog on its own during the day will probably appreciate a couple of old favourites, together with one or two new and exciting things. As Goldie is kenneled during the day, a big cardboard box might be of interest, for example. Or a box with a toy inside, that she has to get the lid off.
Re: really good toys? Oh Obi, how could you ;D ;D Sam doesnt chew much in the garden but will insist on laying flat out in the borders , crushing everything that is trying to grow, I`ve given up and how come the blasted weeds survive a 37 kilo lump laying on them ??
Re: really good toys? Thanks for all the ideas guys. Today i stuffed reats ito he tea towel to make it moe interesting. Im going to spend the weeked thinking of exciting things to give her ;D
Re: really good toys? oh no how have i missed these lovely photos, only just seen them so cute good idea with the tea towel, think jaspers best toy/game is the hoover ;D
