good morning all, please can you help.

oscar is now 5 months old and i have changed his food from pro plan robust puppy chicken and rice food to wainwrights large breed puppy turkey and rice food. the reason for this is it is not always available at our shops and can not guarantee to get it each month as i get the 14kg bags. so my partner and i spoke about it and decided that it would be the next best thing. it has no
    wheat
    beef or pork
    dairy
    eggs
    soya or fillers
    unhealthy additives
    and is hypo allergenic recipe

i gradually added it in to his diet bit by bit over 1 -2 week till his other food ran out, know i seam to have a small (i am hoping) problem. his poos are solid at first then walks a little they then go runny and he is starting to be a little sick in the morning only.
it is just bile. and just once.
He is being fead at 6am then a hand full of kibble at 12.30 then dinner at 7pm (i use his kibble for training and treats when we are out from his lunch food)
now oscar is such a quiet pup and has been since we got him at 8 weeks he has morning walks and plays with other dogs at our local park he is drinking normal peeing normal eating normal (if not a little slower then what he did with the pro plan) and he is also teething very bad we lost about 5 + teeth in a week!!!! he is growing fast and is very large in size his last weight check was 20.85kg @4months old. he is at the hight of an average 2yr old female lab. he is not over weight as he get plenty of exercise. he is at his monthly weigh in tomorrow for his flea treatment so i will speak to the vets then but it is worrying me do you think that i should go back to the pro plan he has only been on the wainwrights for about 3 weeks and had about a week just wainwrights. opinions please :-\

    thank you

Did you reduce his lunchtime meal at the same time or has he been on a handful of kibble at lunch for a while? Sometimes poos that start ok but end sloppily are a sign of too much food in one meal.....just a thought. Good luck, hope you get to the bottom of it :)

Hi, I also have a pup about the same age - she is 21 weeks. I weigh her every week and follow the guide on the food she has. I haven't used either food that you mention. I use eukanuber large breed puppy. If I over feed she will have loose poos. So I am daily making all adjustments.
Hopefully your vet will be more knowledgeable and help you to get it sorted out. I can understand your concern. Good luck!

    hey,
no i have only started to reduce his lunch time food over the last few days, i have just been out for a walk with him and he has done two solid poos, :) with no runny bits. he is a poo machine tho he can go up to 11 times in a day i know this because i went out and cleaned up from the evening before in the morning and then when i went out later that day any body would of thought that i hadn't cleaned the garden up in a week i was gob smacked. i will keep an eye on it but in regards to feeding to much and sloppy poo i think we might of hit the nail on the head. thank you

Loose stools rather than runny ones are nearly always a sign of over feeding.

I have gone the other way & reduced Bouncers feed becuase of loose poo, now he is pooing bricks. Its takes some experimenting.
