Sorry I haven't been around much, things have been hectic ;)

Night times are now a breeze but after a couple of days at home she was crying for attention as she realised she'd get it!! I left her to self soothe the next night (in the living room in her crate so we couldn't hear her as loud) and now she sleeps from 8pm-5:30am without accidents. We take her food and water away at 6pm.
Although it was hard for her to begin with she now cannot physically stay awake after 8! Haha. I have two small children who get up at the crack of dawn so an early night Is crucial! I never go to bed past 10 8)

We now have sit and paw without bribery but Bonny still needs some... "Good reason" to lie down or turn round in a circle lol. We are working on recall in the garden and can't wait until we can get out for walks!!

We have created a rod for our own backs (after saying no couch!!!) and Bonny now takes 99% of her naps cuddled up on the swivel chair we no longer own ;)

The last few days we have had a little problem with accidents in the house. This is mainly because Bonny is terrified of rain. And we get plenty of it ;) how do I stop this happening? She looks outside the door at the rain then runs back in the house and will end up having an accident shortly afterward.

We went for a checkup at the vet and she is in perfect order and is going for her second jabs this Saturday. My kids are absolutely in love (as are we!) and although it's only been a week, it feels like she's always been here.

Well done if you made It this far, I've done a lot of rambling ;)

Hope all pups and owners are well

    Aw it sounds good.
Not sure I have the answer to the rain. It did occur to me you should all dress up in waterproofs (or swimmers ;D ) and go out and play with her in the rain ;D
Only trouble is you might need to go out a few times to get ber associating rain with fun. And then you might regret it ;)

She sounds delightful :) You didn't ramble at all!! We can't get enough of puppy stories.

Do you have a sheltered area you can carry her out to...?

My dog won't go out in the rain either but we don't get so much of it in Australia...

Never thought of getting her used to the rain by playing in it! I'll do that today, get the kids in their waterproofs and wellies and get out there! ;) thanks for the Idea!!

We don't really have anywhere sheltered for her to wee! Poor thing :p

I think it'll be a case of getting used to it as we get A LOT of it here in scotland ::)

Also - does anyone here have cats? My cat is still angry with us for bringing a puppy home and has been blanking me for days! She's in today because of the weather so isn't impressed and keeps swiping at the puppy (although Bonny DOES chase her around...::)

Sounds like things are going really well :)
Harley didn't like the rain at first and would do the same as Bonny. I ended up going out with her and closing the door and not letting her in until she went. She realised this was the case very quickly and would often rush out in the rain, wee a tiny tiny bit, then run in wanting a treat!

Sounds like you're all off to a great start.

I thought I'd dealt with rainy days well enough until last week when Holly (6 months) was staying with my parents for a week and showed herself up as a right wimp of a pampered city dog in front of her country working gun dog cousins! Think it had been nice weather all week until the last day. Dad let her out the crate in the morning, gave her the usual morning belly rubs and opened the door for her to go out only for her to stop dead at the door stop and just turn and look at him as if he was crazy! Guess I'll be out in the water proofs with her a lot this week 'making rain fun'.

The joys of puppy life in Scotland!

I'm looking forward to seeing Willow's reaction when the snow comes!

Hi, our Meg 7 months still not thrilled about just going out for a "wee" in the rain. If she goes for a walk in it she does not care. We live in Yorkshire so its hard to dodge. This morning she stood the doorway and just looked. Luckily her recall is good so I called her out and shut the door behind her. She will also have to get used to it as it rains loads here. Enjoy your pup :)

Going out to play in it is a good idea. Maybe not so practical when it's dark, so maybe just carry her out or take her on the lead and used treats when she performs :D

Mira never seems to mind going out in the rain although sometimes she looks a bit miserable at the start of a very wet walk. She soon gets over it though :D

She was born in a remote hill farmhouse in the middle of a very snowy January and we had another bout of snow in the March when we brought her home (Her last sibling stayed an extra week with her mum as the new owners couldn't get through!). She LOVED playing in the snow and it was so disappointing that we had such a mild winter last year :(

What is it about the rain. My neighbour thinks it's pretty funny. I'm out in the rain while a lab is sitting in the doorway afraid to get her little princess feet wet. :(

I know, and they are supposed to be water dogs ;D But get a bit of rain on their fur and you'd think the world was ending.

I opened theback door this morning for Bouncer to go out to do a wee, it was chucking it down, he lookad at the rain the looked at me as if to say, "you are joking right".

That lasted about 3 mins then he slowley slouched out into the rain to do a pee. Once he was out there though he thought it was great.
